Both have a juice reservoir all around its edges. The plate has three cooking surfaces on its base - a flat round surface in the middle and two smaller at the edges. Simple yet functional! The SCANPAN grill plate works perfectly on the cooker, but is best when used directly on the grill. The plate is free of handles to save space in your kitchen cupboard.
